This Event could easily be named in the ranch of other big
Concours of the world, like:Villa d’Este (Italy) and Pebble Beach (USA).
The Organization is doing a lot of effort do make this Event to the Top.
It is what you could call: The High Society of the Classic Cars.

Even the Concours-magazine is joy to read with all the information
about the displayed cars. The ambiance of Schloss Bensberg together with
its first class catering (the hotel has a 2 and 3* Michelin restaurant)
makes its very delight to be there.

Extra displays were there. In the garden there were Porsches race-cars
 of the 60’s, like the Porsche 908 Langhecke-Coupe (1968).
It won the 1000 Km of that year run of the Nürnburgring, with 350 Ps on 650 kg.
Also the Porsche 917 KH (1970)  which won the 24-hr of Le Mans in 1970
 with a Topspeed of amazing 360 km/hr.

On Saturday there were some legendary Rallycars like
the Ford Escort Mk 2 of Björn Waldegaard and Ari Vatanen

(Techno Classica Essen 2012)
Audi Quattro S1 "Pikes Peak" 1987
 5 Cyl Turbo motor 2110 cc 588 Pk Top 180 Km/u

and the Audi Sport S1 (1985) of Walter Röhrl.
All these cars made Rally history.

On the programme Saturday evening , the Organization had
a very well organized podium with 5 famous Porsche Drivers
of the 60’s and 70’s. They told  stories about competitors,
pricemoney and their life as drivers. Al lot has changed since then.

This Classic Event belongs , with all the credits, in the FIVA calendar.
Together with it’s Sponsors, Volkswagen AG and Althoff Hotel &
Gourmet Collection , this Event is Top of it’s range.
The place to be for the real classic car passioned man.

With regards,

Jos Jurriëns
