The MG PB Airline Coupe 1936 

Originally registered on April 30 1936, by one James Templeton Redhead of Newcastle, this magnificent MG Airline PB Coupe is finished in duotone Ulster and Dublin Green and has to be one of the finest restored examples of the marque to be found anywhere in the world today. It is one of an estimated 7 surviving units from the PA & PB production line total of 51 and was featured as the front cover article in the September 2001 edition of MG enthusiast magazine. Discovered as a 'ripe for restoration' project by Gerry Wadman of Sussex Sports Cars, the main reason for it's present condition has to be the painstaking and no expense spared restoration program, which took an amazing six and a half years to complete in the uk by highly regarded marque specialists Colin Tieche and David Cooksey.
Typically for a car of the period the body was constructed of steel wrapped around a complex ash frame with aluminium being utilised for the rear wings and the aerodynamic roof section.
Power was produced by a 43 bhp (32.1 Kw.) in line 4 cylinder three bearing unit with a 4 speed gearbox.
This was a noticeable improvement on the original 36 bhp version used in the earlier PA model.
Fuel is supplied by twin SU carburettors.
At the time MG were thought to be 'pushing it a bit' by squeezing so much power out of such a small engine, but nevertheless, this little 939cc MMM MG car was to become a highly desirable addition to the driveway of many a sports car enthusiast.
The style and concept of this car were the brainchild of H W Allingham; a noted designer and devoted advocate of hard top cars whose work was at its zenith during the nineteen twenties and thirties. It carried all the design hallmarks of the period with aerodynamic styling to the fore crowned by the breathtaking 3 pane 'cathedral window' roof.
As with its sibling MGs a recuring theme is the octagonal logo which can be found on components throughout the car and is most prominently apparent in the beautiful speedometer dial.
The previous Japanese customer Mr Hiro Nishio, who resides in Kobe, commissioned the restoration and together with Gerry Wadman took it on a MG car club tour of the UK prior to shipping it home. The car has covered aprox 6500 miles in Japan and was a multiple concours champion car before returning to the UK for resale to a prominent Swedish collector.

Now available on the market and UK registered with its original number plate 'DBB 36' this vehicle represents a fabulous opportunity to any collector in today's demanding market place.

A Jaguar E-Type CUT7 1961

‘CUT 7’


CUT 7 was the registration used on three of Dicks racing "E" types.
 The first, chassis number ,860004, was raced successfully in the early 60's however with the advent of the lightweight 'E' 's and Ferrari, a more competitive car was sought. 860004 was re-registered 636 CJU and sold as a road car much to the delight of the new owner.
No lightweight's were available from Jaguar at that time so a visit to the Jaguar parts department was made where a complete car was purchased in the form of "bodyshell 1", "wheels 4" etc etc.
The parts were then subsequently modified and assembled into a competetive "E" and raced successfully. In its first competitive outing at Snetterton, Dick rolled it three times (photograph below) in very wet conditions, followed by several other cars. This resulted in a rebuild to him and the car which was completed in 10 days.

`CUT 7', the fourth E-TYPE ever built, was delivered as a birthday present for Dick Protheroe's wife
and prepared for racing by Dick's own very capable team. 
It was campaigned extremely successfully during its first racing year, 1962,

 The car’s FIA papers list previous owners as David Wilding, John Young, D. Bell and Colin.
