         My first encounter with a Bugatti was during a car exhibition,
 held in the Dominican church in Maastricht.

    There was a copy of Guillaume Prick😇 exhibited 
immediately right at the entrance.
Inquiring about Jean "Showroom" Prick 😇and son of ..., 
which ultimately has a Type 57 Ventoux.  

Deze kerk werd in de zestiger jaren niet als kerk gebruikt,
maar deed dienst als ruimte waar tentoonstellingen
werden gehouden en o.m. ook carnaval  🎭 werd gevierd.

In die Dominicanerkerk werd toendertijd
een autotentoonstelling gehouden.
Daar stond destijds ook de Ford Lotus Cortina van 
FRAMI Racing => Frans Lubin 😇.

Mijn vaderzaliger en ik gingen er naar toe... Ik kan het mij nog redelijk goed herinneren.... Het moet koud geweest zijn want bij de ingang zwaaide je een grote zijdeur open met vervolgens na die deuropening een klein donker portaal en een hangend dik velours gordijn dat diende als tochtgordijn om de kou tegen te houden. En meteen daarna rechts schuin in de hoek daar stond ie dan...binnen !

hier arriverend op Seminarie Rolduc...

De auto was toen in handen van Kunstverzamelaar
en Collectioneur Pim Hascher.
Pim Hascher genoot enige faam als cellist bij het Nederlands Philharmonisch
 Orkest, maar het geld maakte hij in stenen en andere beleggingen. 
Hij verzamelde tijdens zijn leven werkelijk van alles:
 schilderijen, klassieke auto's, automobilia, scheeps-antiek en rariteiten 
zoals kermisobjecten, speeldozen en orgels en dus ook prachtige 
Automobielen als o.m Bugatti's en ook oude Motorfietsen.

Daarna was hij te aanschouwen tijdens het
 - HET LOO  -

De toenmalige Eigenaar Pim Hascher
heb ik toen nog even geinterviewd.

Ik vond het reuze de auto na zoveel jaren weer terug te zien en Pim Hascher
 even te mogen spreken. Daarna ben ik nog even bij, de net van Blaricum naar
 Hilversum verhuisde Pim Hascher op bezoek geweest om hem mijn reeds twee
 geproduceerde Internationale Bugatti Rallies 1986 & 1991
 & Het Loo 2000 videofilms aan te bieden.
Hij was zeer verrast omdat zijn Vriendin er dus ook op stond..
Ik heb zijn verzameling incl. de Bugatti type 101 mogen aanschouwen,
en beloofd nog eens terug te komen voor opnamen...
Maar de tijd ging te snel...

Ook kwam ik die Bugatti tegen bij een 
tentoonstelling in het Autotron...
Dat was in het jaar

This one has is a real 37 (not a replica) of unknown identity 
with a type 40 engine, renumbered '211' and '37314' probably by Jantzen 
who had the Peugeot engine replaced by a Bugatti engine and 
had it restored by Ivan Dutton

Type 41 The Royale Coupe Napoleon 1926/1931
 

This chassis number was registered first by the works at Préfecture du Bas-Rhin on 
(August or September) 1926 as 3293-J4

3293-J4 (F) is also used for the # 41141


The number "41100" was never used on a Royale chassis. It was in fact simply number "100". 
Initially the number was registered on the prototype chassis on 06.10.1926. 


This car crashed in April 1932 and in order for Bugatti to avoid paying duty, he simply swapped 
the identity onto other Royales for his own convenience. Briefly he swapped the chassis and registration number onto the Berline de Voyage car, which was the only other Royale in existence 
at that time. After the 1931 Paris salon the details were transferred onto the Kellner car (41141). 


The number was then removed from the Kellner car and installed on the newly completed Coupe
 Napoleon for which the earliest documented sighting was when Ettore and Jean drove it to london 
for the Bugatti Owners Club annual dinner and dance on the 16th December 1932. 
The Coupe napoleon's bodywork drawings are dated from 11th May 1932. 
41141 was then sidelined at the factory untill 19th May 1934, 
when it was registered as 7502-NV2. 
The Coupe Napoleon shares no common parts with the prototype apart from a piece of paper.
 It only carries the chassis number 100 because it was financially convenient for Bugatti to do so.

In deze vroege racejaren heerste Bugatti. 
Vooral de Bugatti Type 35 was een groot succes. 
Deze auto is waarschijnlijk de meest succesvolle racewagen ooit. 
Het type behaalde meer dan 2.000 overwinningen 
in de periode tussen 1924 en 1931.

The mid-50s he started to design its own cars based on the Citroën 2CV, the duck.
1959 he finished 25 models of the sporty runabout in Liege, Belgium 
- 50 were originally planned. 
The Coupe de Pontac with 500 cc displacement was offered as a kit."

Le 24 Heures du Mans 1958 



The 1958 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 26th Grand Prix of Endurance,
and took place on 21 and 22 June 1958.
It was also the fifth round of the 1958 World Sports Car Championship. Ferrari had 10 cars start the race with only two finishing but one,
a TR 58 (250TR) was the winner driven by Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien.
An Aston Martin finished 2nd, and 3rd went to a Porsche RS/K with only 1600cc. This race saw the death of French driver Jean-Marie Brousselet
when his Jaguar D-Type was involved in an accident.
